Hernando Point COE Park, Hernando, MS

Monday we arrived around 1:30 pm another great COE park in a pretty area of northern Mississippi. By the looks of the Mississippi when we crossed at Helena, it will be dried up shortly, lots of sand showing on both sides of the river. It is interesting to see how fast the terrain changes from flat farm land to gently rolling land tree ed hills.

Tuesday rained last night as a front went thru hopefully cooler air will follow.

Wednesday did the laundry, picked up a new debit card, stoped at HD, Sam's, and Sports Authority.

Thursday
I have noticed a bunch of white pelicans on the lake, but so far they have stayed to far away to take their picture.
Traveled to Memphis this morning, went on a factory tour of Gibson, then walked a block to Beale Street, ate lunch at Blues City Cafe.

As a tour guide to Memphis, If you were camped at Hernando Point (rural Mississippi) Site #A4 is a very nice site, short walk to the trash and showers, Hernando which is roughly 10 miles up US 51 give or take, had laundry and new Super Wal-Mart plus.

Prior to going to Memphis do not listen to the evening news….

Leaving the campground which is at the end of Wheeler Rd. go 5 miles east to US 51 turn north (left) easy drive, good road all the way to the heart of Memphis, you will pass Graceland on your way, every one should stop there once in their life, if not continue on up US 51 turn left on Union Ave also US 51 for a ways, you will pass Sun Studios on the right (worth the stop), but you stay straight on Union until 2nd St. and turn left for 5 or 6 blocks, about 2 blocks south of Beale Street you will go past the back of Gibson on your left, park in the black fenced gated roomy parking area that you see on your left for $5.00. Walk across the street and you are at Gibson’s back door the entrance is at the northeast corner of the building, pay $10.00 each unless you have a online coupon then it is $5.00 off second admission.. It is only a short walk to Beale Street.

Leave your bling at home.

This is a good trip and worth keeping if you are ever going to Memphis
