Eastbank Canpground, Ga

Tuesday Monday we drove our 200 + miles from Damopolas AL to just south of Dothan AL great roads 80 & 231.
A funny thing happened when we arrived at Pecan Point south of Dothan where we were going to meet Buddy and Patsy, they were driving up and staying in a motel, when we got our campsite the guy said he had a nice pull thru spot with a tree and a nice cement patio except of a few cracks. OK, So we busy busily setting things up, I noticed that the guy next to me was hooked up to my water spigot, but I just used his and didn't think to much about it. After we were finished setting things up, I noticed my neighbors had stepped out of their 5th wheel, so I said Hi and went on my way for a second before I realized it was our neighbors (Buddy & Patsy) they had been sitting in there watching us set things up and waiting for the right moment to surprise us, a pleasant surprise.
We left there this morning and came to Eastbank so they could see how nice COE parks are compared to some private parks.

Wednesday
it was kinda of cloudy today, did laundry and just hung around.

Foscue Creek Park, Demopolis, AL

Monday we arrived here a little after noon and have a great site #31 it has full hookups, cement slab, long drive to park vehicle, don't think it could get any better. We met Jim & Joanne here we haven't seen them all summer, they are rubber tramping their way to Houston, and we are headed south. This is their first trip in their new Doubletree Road House http://doubletreervsuites.com/ & new F350 duel lee.

Tuesday we went for a ride in Jim & Joannes new F350 to Wal-Mart in downtown Demopolis, which sells diesel.
Then at lunch time we went to Smokin' Jack's http://www.smokinjacksbarbque.com/ for lunch, this is my new best favorite place to eat.

Hernando Point COE Park, Hernando, MS

Monday we arrived around 1:30 pm another great COE park in a pretty area of northern Mississippi. By the looks of the Mississippi when we crossed at Helena, it will be dried up shortly, lots of sand showing on both sides of the river. It is interesting to see how fast the terrain changes from flat farm land to gently rolling land tree ed hills.

Tuesday rained last night as a front went thru hopefully cooler air will follow.

Wednesday did the laundry, picked up a new debit card, stoped at HD, Sam's, and Sports Authority.

Thursday
I have noticed a bunch of white pelicans on the lake, but so far they have stayed to far away to take their picture.
Traveled to Memphis this morning, went on a factory tour of Gibson, then walked a block to Beale Street, ate lunch at Blues City Cafe.

As a tour guide to Memphis, If you were camped at Hernando Point (rural Mississippi) Site #A4 is a very nice site, short walk to the trash and showers, Hernando which is roughly 10 miles up US 51 give or take, had laundry and new Super Wal-Mart plus.

Prior to going to Memphis do not listen to the evening news….

Leaving the campground which is at the end of Wheeler Rd. go 5 miles east to US 51 turn north (left) easy drive, good road all the way to the heart of Memphis, you will pass Graceland on your way, every one should stop there once in their life, if not continue on up US 51 turn left on Union Ave also US 51 for a ways, you will pass Sun Studios on the right (worth the stop), but you stay straight on Union until 2nd St. and turn left for 5 or 6 blocks, about 2 blocks south of Beale Street you will go past the back of Gibson on your left, park in the black fenced gated roomy parking area that you see on your left for $5.00. Walk across the street and you are at Gibson’s back door the entrance is at the northeast corner of the building, pay $10.00 each unless you have a online coupon then it is $5.00 off second admission.. It is only a short walk to Beale Street.

Leave your bling at home.

This is a good trip and worth keeping if you are ever going to Memphis

Maumelle Park, Little Rock, AR

Monday arrived this morning, this afternoon went to get a refrigerator vent cover and a vent cap.

Tuesday did the laundry, grocery store and back here by lunch. This is another good COE park on the Arkansas river lots or spacious sites with a large number of them right on the river lots of large trees and good grass, almost picture perfect.

Wednesday it rained a lot last night and I need to remember to remember to park so heavy rain will run off the truck bed cover.
