Eastbank COE

Eastbank COE 2010

We arrived here at Eastbank campground before noon, and got set up, Sue has been on ant patrol.
Went for a bike ride made a loop from the campground thru Chattahoochee and back.
The campground is the fullest I have seen it in the number of times that we have been here.
Would you believe, Butthead's BBQ & Grill in downtown Chattahoochee, FL is open for lunch Tue- Fri and Fri evenings only and we will be here Sat., Sun., Mon only.  And it looks like my kind of place, how disappointing.

From Eastbank COE 2010

Sunday, April 18  Went for 1 1/2 hour walk this morning.   They have planted hundreds of Dogwoods in this campground and they all look as healthy like the one in the picture.  The Spring should really be pretty here in a few years.  It seems to me that I have notice more public projects than in the past years city park improvements, road projects, tree plantings, some campground expansion & refer bushing,  etc. Went for a couple of nice bike rides, there are a few hills that I have to use my lowest gear.

Monday, April 19 Went for our morning walk, at noon we went downtown Chattahoochee to Jerry's for buffet lunch & fuel.

Suwannee River Hideaway

Suwannee River Hideaway 2010
Left home this morning after our walk and arrived at Suwannee River Hideaway and it was still morning. We ate lunch then went for a bicycle ride on the Nature Coast Bike Trail, no hills here.
Friday, April 16  Rode the bike trail again today, and went to Wal Mart.
Saturday, April 17  When I was preparing for a quite early morning departure (daylight) and storing stuff, hose, electrical etc. I leaned against my key thingamajig and set off the truck alarm, it took me a few minutes to figure out who did it.  I'll bet it didn't take the sleeping neighbors long to figure out who did it.

Newport 2009

Spent 3 days in Newport, FL, with the intention of riding my bicycle while Buddy & Josh went hunting. Friday was cold and overcast but decided to go wearing jeans & windbreaker. Very good roads and bike trail with little traffic. Saturday it rained all day. Sunday was warmer and fog all day but went for another good ride.

Tallahassee-St. Marks Historic Railroad State Trail
The Tallahassee/St. Marks Historic Railroad Trail runs from Florida’s capital city, past the Apalachicola National Forest, and ends in the coastal community of St. Marks. Through the early 1900’s, this historic railroad corridor was used to carry cotton from the plantation belt to the coast for shipment to textile mills in England and New England. Today, as a paved trail, it provides an excellent workout for street bikers, walkers and skaters. It also provides opportunities for horseback riding on the adjacent unpaved trail, and access to the Munson Hills Off Road Trails in the National Forest. St. Marks offers seafood, fishing or San Marcos Apalache Historic State Park to top off your journey.
